Thought of the Day: It was not “slaves” taken from Africa

It was not “slaves” taken from Africa.

Surgeons, astronomers, dancers, herbalists, singers, philosophers, linguists, scholars, architects were taken.

To suggest “slaves” were taken from Africa is to deny the humanity of our Ancestors.

It is necessary to decolonise our understanding of the identities and how Africans taken away from the continent.

Africa’s history does not start with slavery.

The European epoch of slavery disrupted thousands of years of Africa’s scientific, social, economic and cultural development.

We continue from we where left off and our development will continue.
